The Firm: The practice began in 1996 under the direction of Alton Tangedal the founder and president of the company. With a strong dedication to his clients, Alton has been able to continue to develop a firm with staff who, like him, possess strong communications skills and a desire to provide our clients with more than just basic architectural services. The practice remains strong by ensuring that each client is given the fullest respect and priority throughout the project and beyond.

The firm relocated in June, 2010, to a building we purchased. Our address is Suite 100, 1170 8th Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Operating outside the downtown area provides easy access for our clients and gives us good access to suppliers and contractors, with lots of available parking to serve our clients and our team better.

Our firm targets all types of projects and through practical and analytical processes we are able to create innovative and effective solutions to our clients needs.

A current staff of 11 full time architectural, technical, and administrative personnel make this firm small by comparison, but large enough to provide service on large scale projects. Also, being a small firm makes us easy to become familiar with. Alton continues to provide hands on personal involvement in each project. Although specific staff members may take ownership of a project within the office environment and deal with all technical aspects of the documentation, Alton is directly involved in the design and development of each project and provides the guidance necessary to move each project forward to successful completion.

Alton is committed to being readily available and accessible to all of the firm’s clients. A focus on exceptional communications through the use of cell phones, e-mail, and other technologies make Alton available to address any client needs and concerns immediately, before they progress too far.

Technical staff are well versed in the technologies associated with building science and systems. Each staff member has a slightly different background with experiences in the construction field, interiors and 3-D modeling. Together our team of technologists combines to support this firm in delivering the best possible service to our clients.

Computer Technology: Alton Tangedal Architect Ltd. is one of the first firms in Saskatchewan with all of its project work produced with computer based technology. All documentation is produced and stored in digital format for easy storage and distribution. Our firm uses Microsoft technology for the majority of its document production with the exception of drawings produced by AutoCAD, systems by Autodesk, and specialty specifications and estimating software produced by Innovative Technologies (NMS Edit – Plus) and R. S. Means respectively.

The computer has been an integral part of the entire practice with the use of e-mail as an excellent tool for communications, as well as for distribution of information to our clients and other members of our project teams. This technology has reduced the limitation on our ability to collaborate and has enabled us to provide service to our clients at the highest level.
